A full HD close up forensic examination of the now infamous Mars femur / leg bone. It certainly looks like one when you get up real close and may have belonged to a Martian animal or even humanoid like the Martian one here with an elongated cone-head skull, similar to some found in Peru in recent years. The bone is around 6 to 8 inches long and has a hole at one end with many small pits that are typical of bones on Earth so why not on Mars? It looks more like a Humerus than a femur actually, so is an arm bone not a leg. I would expect a femur to be longer and straighter with a ball joint. Time will tell. There is also what may be an arrow head to the lower left of the image.
After further investigation I think this may be the leg bone of a crocodilian type of lizard. The robustness and shape suggest a creature with a low centre of gravity. The kink in the bones shaft would give such a creature extra leverage in the leg movement so it may even have belonged an aquatic or semi aquatic animal. Nobody in the media seems to have had a proper close examination of this bone and have all just repeated NASA's rather flippant remarks on it being an eroded rock. This is typical of our childish media that never seem to investigate these matters with anything more than a shallow glance.
